The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection, breaks ground at Kiawah River
The new waterfront community, Kiawah River, in Charleston is set to welcome this forthcoming Auberge resort.
The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection, will provide a family-friendly getaway on 2,000 acres of picturesque land.
A waterfront community
The Charleston region’s first agrihood, Kiawah River, has announced the April groundbreaking of The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection.
This resort, promising to connect guests with the natural beauty and simple pleasures of an authentic sea island lifestyle, is expected to open in 2024.
“For the past several years, we have built a vibrant community at Kiawah River,” said John Darby, CEO of The Beach Company. “Today’s groundbreaking signifies our next phase of development, and we are thrilled to see how The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection enhances the experience.”
Craig Reid, president and chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection, added: “We are excited to break ground on The Dunlin and take another step forward in introducing the Auberge experience to Charleston.”
“The Dunlin will offer a one-of-a-kind experience and unforgettable escape at one of South Carolina’s most cherished destinations.”
A new lifestyle destination
Current plans for the resort include the creation of 72 cottage-style guest rooms and suites, along with 19 villas. A main lodge with wraparound porch will lie at the heart of this resort.
Guests will be able to unwind in the main lodge’s great rooms and library lounge and make use of wellness amenities including a pool with cabanas and a full-service spa.
The hotel’s signature restaurant will feature an outdoor deck overlooking Kiawah River.
By staying here, guests will also have access to a community farmstead home to dining destinations and Kiawah River’s riverfront Spring House swimming and fitness facility, as well as two event spaces.
The new Auberge property is being designed by the renowned architect Robert Glazier, with Amanda Lindroth of Lindroth Design then designing the interiors with a whimsical aesthetic that’s reminiscent of sea island homes of another era.
